Affiliate Revenue - How to Maximize Your Affiliate Revenue for Optimal Affiliate Profits

January 7th, 2009

You have been online for awhile, working on creating your own product. Maybe you have one already. Maybe you have a list already. But you have no income.

You need affiliate revenue.

What is affiliate revenue? Affiliate revenue is income you derive from the promotion of affiliate products.

I earn nearly one dollar per month per subscriber on one of my affiliate revenue email campaigns. How do I do it?

I simply build a relationship with my subscribers by offering them top-notch information about which they are hungry and thirsty, then I recommend they visit specially-selected affiliate web sites.

Why do I say, ‘specially-selected’? Because you cannot use just any affiliate program.

Your affiliate program must meet the following criteria before you should promote a product:

1) The product must be exceptional and be backed up with remarkable customer service.

2) The product sales page must do a phenomenal job of transferring 1) to your subscribers.

3) The affiliate program must be honest, and pay exactly when it says it will. Affiliate income must be consistent to you.

4) The affiliate product must mesh well with your own product, whether your own product is already created or just in the works.

Once you have selected an affiliate product with which to maximize your affiliate revenue, recommend the sales page or product to your subscribers. Do not sell them. Recommend them.

Make $200.00 - $500.00 a Day And Quit your Job Forever

January 6th, 2009

How many of you are so sick of their job that just the thought of it makes you sick. You are not the only one, me and maybe thousand others are so tire of making somebody else rich. Lets be honest, here is my example. I work in the hotel business, I´m a night auditor. Which means I got to be from 11: pm until 7:00am doing paper work, checking in and out people, helping the guest with whatever they want and even take a few insults now and then for things that I can´t control. Sleeping during the day suck!, if you have kids you know what I´m talking about. The noise, the sunlight all conspire to wake you up every 5 minutes. So I make calls to other hotels to let them know that I have rooms available so I can´t fill all the rooms to look good to the manger. I work hard for what, so they can give me a .25 cents raise or take you in consideration for a promotion that someone else as soon it gets to the hotel get its. If you are experiencing this same result as me then you are truly dead tire of your job.

There are some options, go back to school for another 4 years, to have to pay more money in loans and then see if you can find a job. Or make your own business and you be the supervisor, manager and owner. But it takes so much money to open a business and the first year is all losses. Don´t miss understand me, I´m not lazy, but I like many others don´t have that kind of money. The money is in sales, I have try it and is great, but there are so many up an downs. Gas, food and knocking on door to door, is really hard. So I sat down and decided to try the next thing. The Internet has been the key of success for many people around the world.

And what better place to make sales, I can go house to house, wok 24 hour and world wide. I can make sales while I sleep. But things got bad when I realize that 99% of all the courses or get rich quick are scams. I lost so much money that I almost gave up. And I think that I´m not alone in that either, I bet that many of you have lost money buying this courses, that sometimes sounds so good that you just know it is n´t true, but I knew that there most be a way to make money online so I keep searching. I wrote emails to them on the daily form, all I got was the quick reply they send.

In all my search I did came across some products that where the real deal. A support that actually works and information that was easy to understand and not that hard to do. There are so many things to do to make money online; surveys, data entry, marketing and sales. Here is the deal, yes you can make money online. It takes dedication, time and work, but all the profits are yours. You select the hours you work, get to expend more time with family, don’t have to get dress to work, just work in your pajamas. This is not a you pay, read, and done send me the money, but it can be done.

To Buy Or Not To Buy Internet Traffic

January 6th, 2009

The internet can provide instantaneous mass marketing capabilities unimagined only two decades ago. It allows you to reach millions of prospective clients in less time than it takes to submit an ad to traditional media.

Little wonder that in 2006 U.S. internet advertising revenue was over $16 billion and now accounts for approximately 5% of total U.S. advertising spending. Contrast this with the early days of traditional mass advertising: according to some estimates, the entire U.S. in 1880 spent about $200 million in advertising. (Of course, many things were different and less complicated in those days. For one thing, they didn’t have spam telegrams. I doubt if anyone ever got a telegram, saying, “Congratulations! You’ve just won a fully-loaded donkey with a 5-speed saddle massager.” I could be wrong. But this is a whole different topic.)

Unlike running ads in traditional newspapers and magazines, on the net you can buy “traffic” (a.k.a “hits” or visitors) from “traffic wholesalers” and “Pay Per Click” (PPC) search engines. With the former you′re guaranteed an agreed-upon number of hits, with the latter you pay for each visitor when and if you get traffic.

Some caution needs to be taken when buying from traffic wholesalers, though. A considerable amount of traffic sold by wholesalers is “popup” and “popunder″ (windows that pop either over or under websites). Most browsers today have popup blockers, making such promotions extremely ineffective. So find out whether they have “real” traffic (which usually comes from expired domains) before buying.

You also need to watch out for “program generated traffic:” this is outright fraud. There are software that make it look like you’re getting traffic when in fact you’re getting no visitors. So, a good approach is to buy a small amount of traffic first, then buy larger amounts only if the smaller one worked out.

You’ll usually find 2 types of traffic sold by wholesalers: “targeted” and “untargeted.” Targeted traffic is broken down by categories, which allows you to choose traffic related to your business. Untargeted traffic, which is usually a lot cheaper, is of a general, non-specific nature. You may be tempted to buy the cheaper type, but be aware that trying to sell to untargeted traffic can be like trying to sell hubcaps to Amish people. If you feel that lucky, just buy a lottery ticket.

“Pay Per Click″ (PPC) search engine (SE) traffic works differently. With an SE, like google or yahoo, you first open an account and deposit a token amount of money, usually $25 to $100. This amount normally goes toward eventual clicks you expect to get.

You can then set up numerous ads, none of which costs you money. You pay for each click only when and if you get traffic. If done properly, SE traffic can turn into an excellent ROI (return on investment).

Unfortunately, here, too, you have to watch out for fraud, which is usually perpetrated by individuals rather than by the SE itself.

To avoid getting ripped off by PPC traffic, it’s important to understand how SEs work. When you do a search on google.com, for example, you’ll notice two sections on the results page. One, the wide listings in the middle and, two, the “sponsored links″ on the right side. The listings in the middle are free, the sponsored links on the right are PPC. Every time you click an ad on the right side it costs the advertiser money.

Anyone with a website can open an account with google (or many other SEs) and place sponsored links on their website. They then get paid by Google every time a visitor clicks on these links. Google, in turn, charges the advertiser for every click.

Fraud comes in when a webmaster himself clicks on ads on his own site. This can become quite costly for the advertiser if the webmaster uses one of the programs available that simulate clicks, giving the appearance of heavy traffic.

It’s therefore best to stick with the major SEs, since they’re apt to have more sophisticated fraud tracking programs. They’re not perfect, but they do cut down on fraudulent clicks. With smaller SEs you can rack up a huge number of traffic-less clicks in no time. And that can′t be good for business. Well, not yours anyway.

Here’s a short list of the top SEs and the approximate percentage of internet search traffic they handle at this writing:

Google (adwords.google.com) - 42.7%
Yahoo (marketingsolutions.yahoo.com) - 28%
MSN Search (search.msn.com) - 13.2%
AOL Search (search.aol.com) - 7.6%
Ask Jeeves (askjeeves.com) - 5.9%
All Others - 2.3%

Getting targeted traffic from SEs works differently than that of traffic wholesalers. With an SE account, you set up “keywords” or keyword phrases for each ad you create, and the amount you’re willing to pay for each keyword or phrase. Then, when a user enters one of these keywords or phrases into a search box, your ad comes up. How high in the listing your ad comes up depends on how much money you bid on that keyword or phrase. But you only pay that amount when and if the user clicks on your ad.

It’s important to note that not every time there’s a discrepancy between the traffic you were supposed to get and what your website statistics say you got is it necessarily fraud. In fact, the two figures will seldom agree. They can be off by as much as 10% and still be legitimate. (This is because different algorithms are used by different software to determine what constitutes a visitor. e.g. How long does a visitor have to stay to be counted? If the same IP address hits your site twice within a short time span, some will consider it as one visitor, others as two. If, while your website is in middle of coming up, a visitor moves on to anther site, your site’s software may not recognize his visit. etc.)

It’s usually when large numbers disagree by large amounts — let’s say, you were supposed to get 10,000 visitors and you only got 2,000 — that it could be fraud, or, perhaps, a system malfunction of some sort.

How to effectively write SE ads and set up keywords is too vast a topic to fully cover here. But I’ll just mention that it’s important to match your ads and keywords as close as possible to your website content, and to know your target audience. Giving away promotional snow blowers, for example, won’t do much for business if you’re selling condos in Florida. Don’t try to make your wholesale meat packing business sound more exciting by advertising it as a wildlife preserve. And if you run a skydiving school, don’t use the phrase, “If at first you don’t succeed.”

CAN SPAM ACT SPAM Reduction; There Goes the FTC Tooting Their Own Horn Again

January 6th, 2009

In my opinion the Federal Trade Commission is a complete waste of money. For them to say that there little bureaucratic effort reduced SPAM is a silly notion indeed. That little pathetic agency could not sue their way out of a paper box filled with their own press releases to the media to save their next year’s budget.

Indeed it appears their press releases are written on toilet paper these days as they spew their crap across the Internet? That worthless and disgusting agency must need an arm brace every year from injury, as they are so busy patting them selves on the back. I can see the circle jerks now lined up in a circle of law school low performing lawyers who could not make it in the real world, patting each other on the back for their great work in the CAN SPAM Act. When the facts are it was free enterprise and people like Bill Gates and the other great companies who helped figure out how to curb the growth of SPAM. Free Enterprise? Ever heard of it at the FTC? Apparently not!

The Federal Trade Commission is a complete waste of taxpayer’s money and a bizarre excuse for an agency associated with the Justice Department. They make the DOJ looks stupid and incompetent. In my opinion some needs to put forth a bill to reduce the FTC’s budget by half this year and half next year and then another half of what’s left the year after and close that ridiculous façade of an agency before they do any more misrepresentation on consumers. Think on it, this is your government at work?

5 Quick Tips On How-To Build Google Adsense Feeder Pages The Search Engines Devour

January 5th, 2009

Today your in for a real treat. WHY? Because I′m going to tell you How-To build “Feeder Pages” search engines simply die for.

And don’t worry, these tips won’t strain your brain to much and are very straight forward, even if your New to the Internet marketing game.

TRAFFIC, as we all know it is the life blood of your businesses VERY existence online, so wouldn’t it be nice if you could tap into some of that traffic, thats targeted Search Engine traffic, absolutely FREE Of Charge?

I bet you said YES!

Well… your in luck because that’s the sole purpose of a “Feeder Page”.

Now, the question that I found that usually arises with “Feeder Pages” is How-To build them correctly.

This was the exact question I had myself when I was first came across this type of website Traffic Generation and is why I’m writing this article.

So, with that said, I hope by the time you finish reading this article you′ll have a good idea yourself of the steps neccessary on How-To build quality “Feeder Pages” of your own that will send you FREE targeted search engine traffic and generate you some Google Adsense revenue as well.

Lets get started. Go to Tip #1.

Tip #1. Make your “Feeder Pages″ theme based.

This is an important tip. You must make your “Feeder Pages” the same theme as the rest of your website. What I mean by that is, same template, same navigation, same links, copyright, etc.

By doing this it won’t seem as obvious to your visitor that its a generated page of some sort and will give you a better chance of them clicking through to your main sale pages.

Tip #2. Put quality Keyword Rich content on your pages.

This is yet another important tip you must consider and that is putting quality Keyword Targeted content on your “Feeder Pages” that targets your audience.

Why?

Because you are building these pages for the search engines and since roughly 85% of Internet surfers use search engines as their primary tool for locating the information they′re looking for your going to want to have Quality Content related to your Product or Service waiting for them to draw them in when they find your link within the search engine listings.

Tip #3. Add links back to your website or affiliate site.

This next tip is pretty straight forward. All you need to do is put either a Text Ad(recommended) or some Banner Ads within the “Feeder Pages” in Highly Visible areas and link them back to your main website or Affiliate website.

This is the whole purpose of building these pages in the first place.

Tip #4. Placing your Google Adsense code for $$$.

Since your doing all this work to generate traffic to your main website why not profit EVEN MORE by adding 3 blocks of Google Adsense code to your “Feeder Pages” just in case your visitor decides not to click through to your website or affiliate site.

And since your “Feeder Pages” have quality Keyword Targeted content on them, your Google Adsense Ads will display targeted ads.

The best places to put your 3 blocks of Google Adsense code is right at the top under your Header graphic if you have one. The next best place is in the upper left sidebar. And the last place is either within the content itself or at the end of the article.

These positions all depend on how you build your “Feeder Pages”, so make sure you plan out where you want to put your Google Adsense code in advance for Maximum PROFIT!

Tip #5. Add an RSS feed to your “Feeder Pages”.

Okay. Here’s the last tip I′m going to share and that is, add an RSS(Real Simple Syndication) feed to your “Feeder Pages”.

By doing this you’ll be putting your “Feeder Pages” on Autopilot, 24/7.

Why an RSS feed?

Simple. RSS feeds deliver and syndicate fresh content, so if you have an RSS feed on your “Feeder Pages″ your content will be updated ‘Automatically’ which will then trigger the search engine spiders to schedule routine visits back to your website for more indexing.

Well… there you have it in a nutshell folks.

If you follow what I have outlined above you’ll be on your way to FREE targeted search engine traffic and Google Adsense $$$.

These are just some quality tips I wanted to share with you from my own experience to help you Maximize your efforts if you decide to use this type of Traffic Generation, and to also help take away the Trial and Error process.

How to Strategize Your Link Popularity Campaign

January 5th, 2009

Link popularity is the number of links pointing to a website. It is an important factor that major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN use to rank web pages.

Webmasters figure out that in order for their web pages to rank well at the search engines for certain keywords, they need a lot of incoming links with these targeted key words. Linking schemes of all kinds were hatched…mini-sites, site networks, link farms and reciprocal linking, just to mention a few. Some schemes like link farms were clear indication of manipulating the search engines.

Google has clamped down on such practices and further fine-tuned its SERP algorithm to stop manipulation by anyone as evidenced by ‘Jagger’.

Focus on the long term. Build a site that is credible to the search engines and your website visitors.

Here are 7 ethical link-building strategies for you work with…

1. Internal linking. Having a well organized internal linking structure insures that your website gets ’spidered’ and that all pages of your website gets indexed by the search engines. This in turn increases the chances of the number of phrases that your website has the potential to rank for. And I have had website traffic from key phrases that I never thought of.

2. One-way links. Human edited directories look like a thing of the past. With Google being more efficient and accurate as ever there’s no need to turn to human edited directories. A directory may get you a few click-throughs in a month or none at all. However, to be listed in a high quality directory like DMOZ and Yahoo can increase your PageRank.

The way to get inbound links is distribute content. There are many article directories on the Internet. Just include a link in your article. With article distribution you can choose the exact anchor text for the link.

3. Reciprocal links. What is reciprocal linking? It is simply trading links with other sites. You add their links to your site and vice versa. In times past website owners have sizeable directories with multiple links that are not relevant to theirs. Now, search engines have become wiser and look for link relevance. A word of advice here, know whom you are trading link with. Don’t just choose any Tom, Dick, Harry or toothless Jane to be your link partners.

People have asked whether they would be penalized by the search engines for reciprocal links. Well, at least for now, they are still acceptable.

4. Varied the Text of your inbound links. It will not appear natural to the search engines for every site that links to you to have the same link description. So vary the text of your inbound links using a few key phrases.

5. Grow your links at a steady rate. Google penalizes new sites with low-traffic that grow their links too quickly, whereas a well-established high traffic site that increases by a few thousand links a month will viewed as normal. The rate at which links are created without being penalized by Google, is directly proportional to the age of the website. For owners of new sites, bear this in mind, if you are thinking about buying inbound links.

6. Have inbound links from different ranking sites. If all your inbound links are Pr6 and Pr7 sites, then you will send a strong indication that you have purchased those links. Your inbound links will not appear natural to the search engines. It is more natural for you to have a large number of Pr1 and Pr2 inbound links with decreasing number of inbound links as you move higher up the PageRank scale.

7. Actively participate in forums or blogs. Don’t just post threads indiscriminately on forums. Search engines view this as spamming. Participate in forums to learn and to contribute to the communities and at the same time gather inbound links. You will also build credibility for yourself and your business if you are a solution to people’s problems.

Blogging is an effective way of gathering inbound links. If you have a personal blog, it is easier to post comments at other sites. But do spam blast your comments with advertisements. Just provide a link to your site with your comments. Your goals are to gather inbound links and to gain a good reputation online. Comment intelligently on the specific subject. A well thought out comment will not only attract the search engines, but also more readers of the blog to your website. They will naturally link to you if they find articles of good quality at your website.

To achieve good rankings at the Search Engine through link popularity requires time and patience. Stick to the sound practices of link building. Impatience could cause you to incur penalties. It was once rumored, but now quite evident that Google uses a ’sandbox’ to keep questionable sites in the hold until they have aged to a point. Then they are released at the sole discretion of Google. Other search engines also have their own safeguards to keep their SERPs from being cluttered with questionable sites.

The underlying principle is to grow your links ‘organically’ whilst adding content of value to your website. Ethical SEO is not a black art. It is a matter of adhering to the guidelines, terms and conditions stipulated by the search engines.

Spam — How Much Will It Cost Your Business?

January 5th, 2009

According to a recent study conducted by Ferris Research, a market and technology research firm specializing in messaging and collaboration, Spam will cost U.S. businesses over $10 billion in 2003.

Spam not only clogs our servers and in-boxes, but it also costs us hours and hours of lost time in productivity.

Although the estimated cost of Spam focuses mainly on lost productivity, this picture may be much broader than you realize.

Some of the more popular email providers, such as AOL (America Online), Yahoo! and Hotmail, are now utilizing filters to cut down on Spam. These filters are dumping Spam and/or bulk mailings into a separate location. Although this may cut down on Spam in your in-box, these filters are also dumping some legitimate email messages.

What’s more, some hosting services not only filter the email messages, but they’re also blocking entire hosting companies. For example, the blocking host may have gotten some Spam complaints about a few marketers that host with ABC hosting company. (Keep in mind, ABC hosting company may host thousands of sites.) Rather than block the offending marketers, the blocking host decides to blacklist the entire ABC host.

What this means is if you try to contact someone and their hosting company has blacklisted your host, your email will not go through — it will bounce right back to you.

If you suspect you may not be receiving all of your email, contact your host and ask them if they’re using Spam filters or have blocked entire hosting companies.

How Much Will Spam Cost Your Business?

How much time do you spend sorting through the Spam in your email each day? Add it up sometime — I′ll bet you’ll find you spend a lot more time than you even realized — time that could have been spent on your business.

If you’re publishing an ezine or sending out any form of opt-in mailings, how many subscribers are actually receiving your mailings? Most-likely, not nearly as many subscribers as you may think. How many lost sales has this cost you?

How many messages, such as information requests, customer support requests, etc., have you not received due to filtering?

How many messages have you replied to that your customers or potential customers have never received due to filtering?

As customer service says a lot about your business practices, how many customers will you lose?

The list goes on and on. But the point is this, Spam is costing you dearly.

Protecting Your Email Address

So how can you defend yourself? Well, it depends on which side you’re on — how to protect yourself, and/or how to make sure your messages are getting through.

In order to protect yourself against Spam, you first need to understand how your email address is obtained.

There are many unethical businesses online that collect and sell email addresses. They use robots that travel from link to link in search of email addresses. Their customers are led to believe that these email addresses belong to individuals who want to receive mailings. However, much of the time, this isn′t the case.

Never purchase a list of email addresses from anyone other than a reputable company. The only company I can recommend is Post Master Direct. postmasterdirect.com

To protect your email address from these robots, instead of displaying your address on your site, use a feedback form. Not just any type of form, but a form that doesn’t display your email address within the hidden form fields. The only form I can recommend is Master Feedback. You can pick up a free copy here:
willmaster.com/master/feedback/index.shtml

Anytime you’re filling out a form online and you’re asked to provide your email address, make sure you review the site’s “Privacy Policy” to ensure that your email address will not be sold or shared with a third party.

Protecting Your In-box

To protect your in-box, you can use a Spam filtering software program. Although there are several available online, the best one I’ve found is Mail Washer. This program will enable you to view all the email on your server without actually downloading it into your email program. Once you′ve reviewed your messages, you can create filters and bounce the Spam messages back to the sender. Although you can pick up the program free, consider supporting the developer and register the software for a small fee. mailwasher.net

Avoiding the Spam Filters

If you’re sending out a mailing to an opt-in list, there are a few steps you can take to make sure your message won′t trip the Spam filters:

1) Avoid using trigger words, such as Spam, fr*e, r*move, etc. Although the list is far too broad to list here, you can learn more by reading the following articles:

Spam Filters Run-Amuck by Timothy A. Gross
iprofitsystems.com/articles/spamfilters.html

CLIP & SAVE guide to avoiding Spam filters by Debbie Weil
imakenews.com/wordbiz/e_article000094161.cfm

2) Avoid using JavaScript within your messages.

3) Avoid using “bad” words.

If you′d like to ensure your messages are getting through, consider opening email accounts with the popular providers. You can send your mailings to these accounts and monitor their reception. If your mailings land in the dump, you can make some adjustments or even contact the company.

If you would like to test your outgoing email messages to ensure they won’t trigger a Spam filter, Ken Evoy offers a great service called SpamCheck. This free service will enable you to send a copy of your publication, or any email message, to a specific address and it will return a report of possible words that will trigger the Spam filters.

Send your publication including the subject and body to:
mailto:spamcheck-websource@sitesell.net

Conclusion

The Spam problem continues to get progressively worse. Although there isn’t a simple solution to the problem, the information provided in this article should assist you in not only avoiding Spam, but also avoiding the filters for your legitimate mailings.

It’s really a shame we’re even in this position. However, we cannot allow Spam to continue to infiltrate our businesses. We must take the necessary steps to ensure our success.

Making Your MySpace Profile Stand Out From the Crowd

January 5th, 2009

There is little doubt that MySpace has taken the internet world by storm. The ability for members to make friends and displays their interest, hobbies and statistics (age, location etc.) has seen the site soar to one of the most popular websites on the internet.

It is suggested that the total number of MySpace members will soon be approaching 100 million; which is why it can be great fun to customize your own profile page to stand out from the crowd. You may have noticed from browsing friends profiles that many opt to display large images or videos on the page that take an age to load, so this may not be the best route to take to make an attractive looking profile.

I prefer to choose a nice light background with traditional black text, possibly adding a single video to the page. There are certainly some points to remember if you want to make your profile appealing to everyone. Consider that many members may still be using a dial-up internet connection, meaning that any large images or videos may take a long time to load. Also ask the opinion of your friends to gather feedback over what looks good on your profile page and what does not. The color of the background and the color of the text are often badly chosen. Some people find it hard to read white or red text on a black background, whereas some it difficult to read yellow writing on a white background. Choose carefully, as many MySpace users may be put off reading your profile if the page does not display well.

There are some great features that you can add to your page, including cursors, layouts, surveys, games and much more. You can even add music to your page, so that when someone visits your profile the music will play. You can literally spend hour after hour customizing your page!

MySpace is a great place to find friends with the same interests as yours, and you might choose to reflect this in your profile with pictures of your horse for example if you like horse riding or you with your basketball team if that’s what you like to do.

The site has also provided great promotion for many users, and has led to relative success for a number of musical artists. This is of course down to the large number of users that can be contacted.

One very important note to make is for young users to use caution when posting personal information and for parents to realize this. It’s an unfortunate reality that some people use such sites to stalk young users, so caution must be made to stop this immediately if it appears. This is not meant to be scaremongering, but instead to highlight the fact that it can be great to talk to friends and share your interests, but be cautious when sharing personal information with members you do not know.

Nevertheless, as highlighted earlier, your MySpace profile can be fun to customize and there are many ways that this can be done.

Why not customize your profile with freemyspacecursors.net/graphics/cursors/ MySpace cursors and freemyspacecursors.net/graphics/backgrounds/ MySpace backgrounds. They are two great ways to make your profile page stand out from the crowd!

The Eye of the Storm

January 4th, 2009

I’ve been publishing a newsletter for over 6 years and I’ve been actively marketing and running an online business for almost 8… needless to say, I’ve seen a lot of trends come and go and definitely know all about lulls and surges.

I know all of us would like more surges and if you′re like me, you tend to get a little discouraged at first when you start to feel the effects of the lulls. This is normal and although they say you get used to it as time goes on, I have to say I still get discouraged every year around this time, but I’ve since learned how to deal with it a little more positively.

Since my slow season hits with a bang, I would quickly forget how much I complained about having no time and being extremely stressed during the surge. So now I try to think of it as the “The Eye of the Storm″… calm, quiet, but with the promise of a surge to come.

Yes, it’s true… there are those big gurus who claim to still surge no matter what time of year it is — and I don′t doubt them — but for people like you and me, it just doesn′t happen no matter how hard you try or how hard you work. I′ll admit that my lull isn′t as slow as it used to be since my name has gotten out there a bit, but it’s STILL slower than any other time of year.

When I first started experiencing this, I was mad with ambition to get my business and traffic back to par. I wasn′t going to stand for the lull theory… no way! I spent literally thousands on marketing, TONS of time spitting out new products and services, and basically worked myself to death…

Did I get more business? Did I get more traffic? Well, yes but not NEAR worth what I spent to get it! I ended up losing a lot of money that year — something I could have avoided if I would just accept it and leave it be.

It definitely taught me a lesson. For the last few years, I’ve just accepted it and I cease the flow of any marketing dollars or time spent on launching new products or services. What do I do with my time? I work on improving any existing products and services and I clean up. I’ve found that it’s the best time to get things ready for the surge and the best time to take a little time off and enjoy what my success has afforded me. I do what all my potential but non-buying customers are doing… I spend time with my family and spend my money on Christmas gifts and donations.

If you can’t deal with that or you absolutely have to keep making that surge money to make ends meet, find a niche product or service that will do well around this time of year — like a cookbook, gift site, or similiar service.

I have some big gurus as subscribers and if you’re one of those that never has a slow season then I’ll be honest, I’m jealous! But for the majority of us, it’s inevitable and something we will probably never overcome.

So swallow the jagged pill and don’t try to beat it. Remember that it is NOT the end of the world or your business — just the “The Eye of the Storm”. ENJOY it and use it as a time for rest, relaxation, and getting your mind, body, and business ready for the upcoming chaos.
